Outline
We are very excited to host a day of theory and practical with Maria Rosa Veterinary Associate from Sussex Equine Hospital on Equine First Aid.
Participants will gain valuable knowledge on keeping your horse healthy, important information and equipment, handling a variety of common equine emergencies and referral to the veterinary hospital. During practical sessions you will learn how to take vital signs and how to apply a hoof poultice.
Location & Duration
Held at Jewels Stables, Arundel on Saturday 10th August 2024
Arrivals from 9am with a 09:30 start and 16:30 finish.

Maria Rosa DVM, MRCVS
Maria graduated from the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (Portugal) in 2017. After completing two internships in equine hospitals in Ireland and England, she worked as an equine ambulatory vet in The Curragh (Ireland). Now she has returned to the Sussex Equine Hospital team to undertake an ambulatory role and is currently studying towards a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice with the University of Liverpool. Maria enjoys all aspects of internal medicine and intensive care, with a particular interest in neonatology, cardiology and other medicine-related athletic performance issues. When not around horses, Maria enjoys playing music, hiking and cooking.
