Outline

Step into the world of equine acupressure with this friendly and accessible fundamentals course, created for anyone who loves horses and wants to support their comfort and wellbeing in a natural, holistic way.

Whether you’re a dedicated horse owner, an equine professional, or an experienced bodyworker looking to expand your toolkit, this course offers a gentle and inspiring entry point into Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for horses.

With supportive instruction and plenty of real-world application, you’ll develop the confidence to use gentle acupressure techniques to help horses relax, release tension, and restore natural balance.

Perfect for beginners and a wonderful enhancement for those already practicing equine bodywork, this course gives you practical skills, fresh insight, and a deeper appreciation for the horse’s remarkable ability to heal and rebalance.

Throughout the course, you’ll be guided through the essential fundamentals of acupressure, helping you understand how to observe the whole horse and recognise signs of imbalance. Together, we explore:

Heather Richardson

Heather is a mum of 3 boys and owns and rides a PRE Andalusian gelding called Moose. She’s been riding since the age of 4 and has owned quite a few horses over the past 40 years. Heather has always been passionate about natural equine therapies and holistic practices and has over 25 years’ worth of knowledge and experience in this arena. Most recently she spent 6 years studying privately with Amy Snow, Co-founder of the Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute, as well as organising and teaching TCM and Animal Acupressure courses both in the UK and in Colorado. In 1998 Heather attended the Raworth International College of Natural, Nutrition and Sports Therapies gaining qualifications in Human Clinical and Holistic Aromatherapy and Massage Therapy. Heather is also a Reiki Master, Equine Touch Practitioner and qualified in Equine Massage. For her 21st birthday Heather was given a very nicely bred Danish Warmblood filly called Amberley to produce for dressage. She was a rather lovely but unruly 9-month foal at the time and the pair both had a lot to learn! However, instead of dressage, Amberley had other plans for Heather’s education; a number of health, soundness and behavioural issues caused Heather to seek alternative methods and remedies. Amberley is no longer with us, but her legacy lives on in the knowledge and experience that Heather has gained during their 21 years together. As well as Amberley Equine Therapy Courses, Heather is the owner and Director of Amberley Aromatics Limited, a company which develops, manufactures, and sells natural skin care products for humans and animals.
