Louise Mauferon Vernet
Born in France, Louise moved to the UK in 2010 to study Animal Osteopathy at the European School of Animal Osteopathy. She graduated with honors from her course in 2015, after 5 years of full time study and successfully presenting her thesis, The Place of Fascia in Osteopathic Diagnostic and Treatment. She has lived and worked in the UK ever since. Louise always advocates for her patients’ wellbeing, supporting owners to understand what their horse truly needs to feel their absolute best. Her practice is firmly based in working with the horses and not against them, and giving them space to express themselves and to share how they feel within their bodies. Letting the horses have a say in what happens to them clears the path for relaxation, deepens the sessions, allows the nervous system to rebalance and gives a chance them a chance to find ease in their body and freedom in their movement. Louise’s passion for horses, combined with her desire to help people understand as much as possible about how their horse’s body functions and how we can help them, naturally led her to teaching. After doing evening presentations for local riding clubs, she started teaching other practitioners her approach in 2018, and has since then developed 4 CPD courses that she teaches during the year in several locations. She also started doing online webinars for horse owners and ran an online course, How To Assess Your Horse’s Body, in 2022. The same year she attended her first post mortem and has since done 8 more, each time diving deeper into the cause of death of a horse and learning their journey through their tissues. She keeps these experiences close to her everytime she teaches and treat horses, as she knows how little we truly know about what goes on inside a horse’s body, and how important it is to listen to them.
